Creating a Persona

A period character is a very personal thing. It can be guided by several influences: where you presently live, what you've read and studied, what you're interested in, and even what you do for a living in your real life.

These are suggestions to help you get started with creating, developing, and sustaining a historical persona.

  • What is your name?
  • Where were you born?
  • Where are you now?
  • What year is it?
  • What is your station in life?
  • What do you do for a living?
  • What is your religion?
  • What do you wear everyday?
  • Who do you live with?
  • What is your typical day like?
  • What activities do you pursue for recreation?
  • How well educated are you?
  • What medical care has been provided to you, or is available?
  • How did you learn your trade?
  • What events occured up to this point in your life?
